Mrs. Isaac GILKERSON died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Loris Courtney in Lafayette on Wednesday of last week. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Crawfordsville on Saturday afternoon in charge of Rev. BE Antrobus. Burial at Rockville. Those attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. JM Heslar; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Humphreys; Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hazlett and Mrs. Henry Adams and Miss Bonnie. Mr. and Mrs. JM Heslar and Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hazlett visited the home in Lafayette on Friday. Mrs. Gilkerson was born in Parke County Oct 6, 1857. She was a sister of Levi Pickard who formerly owned the place now owned by RE Eblin. At one time the Gilkersons had charge of the Cuppy Hotel and later kept a boarding house in the house now owned by Mrs. Ghormley. After moving to Crawfordsville they continued this business in connection with their daughter, Mrs. Loris Courtney. She is survived by the daughter and 3 granddaughters, Mrs. Carl Grugg; Mrs. Gordon Thompson and Margaret Courtney and by one grandson, Ronald Courtney and a great grandchild. - kbz

Mrs. Isaac Gilkerson died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lorie Courtney in Lafayette on Wednesday January 13. Mrs. Gilkerson was born in Parke County October 6, 1857. She was a sister of Levi Pickard who formerly owned the place now owned by RE Eblin of Waveland vicinity. Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Courtney; 3 granddaugthers, Mrs. Carl Grugg, Mrs. Gordon Thompson, and Mrs. Margaret Courtney one grandson, Ronald Courtney and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Crawfordsville on Saturday afternoon, the Rev RE Antrobus officiating. Burial in Rockville cemetery. - kbz
